JAMAY Consulting Consulting is committed to protecting all personal, private and confidential information. This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information we collected via websites, social media platforms and events. It also relates to our use of any personal information provided to us by phone, SMS, email, in letters or in person.


JAMAY Consulting is a data controller of personal information, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We are a Data Controller of personal information. We acknowledge and agree that any personal data that we handle will be processed in accordance with all applicable data protection laws, including with effect from 25th May 2018, the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

2 What personal information do we collect and how?


JAMAY Consulting collect:


  • Information provided to us, for example via our website, emails, correspondence, phone conversations, questionnaires, marketing campaigns or events

  • Information provided to us by individuals seeking work placements or consultancy roles

  • Information on what users view and access on our website or marketing emails

  • Information from social media accounts where consent has been given for us to use it

  • Information posted on networking sites such as LinkedIn in relation to users searching for job roles

  • Unique technical information that identifies the devices used to access our websites.


We also collect information where consent has been given for other organisations to share personal information they hold with us, and where other organisations lawfully share personal information with us.


3 How do we use this information?


JAMAY Consulting will use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To  help us identify suitable candidates for various job roles or consultancy assignments

  • To send out our monthly newsletters

  • For email marketing

  • To personalise our communications. This will include reviewing the information we held in order to understand people’s preferences and to create profiles so that we can make communications more relevant and efficient.

  • To help us maintain accurate administrative and statutory records

  • To inform consultants and clients about any changes to our activities, websites or this privacy policy.

  • To enable us to plan and manage our day-to-day activities


4 Who do we share this information with?


JAMAY Consulting will never sell personal information. We will also never share personal information with other parties for their own marketing purposes.


However, we cannot run our business without involving other people and organisations from time to time. When we share personal information, we will only do so safely and in accordance with the law.


Information may be disclosed to:


  • our carefully selected corporate partners.

  • our professional advisors including our lawyers and technology consultants when they need it to give us their professional advice.

  • the police, local authorities, Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the courts and any other government authority if they ask us to do so (but only if us doing so is lawful).


We may also share the information we collect where we are legally obliged to do so, e.g. to comply with a court order.


Any social media posts or comments sent to us will be shared under the terms of the relevant social media platform, e.g. Facebook or Twitter, and could be made public. Other people control these platforms – we do not control them and we are not responsible for this sharing.


5 Legal basis for processing personal information


The legal basis on which we collect and process the personal data described above depends on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it. However, JAMAY Consulting will only use personal information where we:

  • need the personal information to perform a contract or business based relationship

  • need to process personal information for our legitimate interests and only where our legitimate interests are not overridden by any rights or freedoms under data protection law

  • have a legal obligation to collect personal information

  • need the personal information to protect the vital interests of the provider or those of another person


If we ask the provider of personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract, we will make this clear at the relevant time, and advise whether the provision of personal information is mandatory or not. We will also try to advise of the possible consequences if the required personal information is not provided.

Similarly, if we collect and use personal information in reliance on our legitimate interests (or those of any third party), we will make it clear at the relevant time what those legitimate interests are.


6 International transfer of personal information


JAMAY Consulting will always seek to store personal information in the UK. However, on some occasions, the information we collect may be transferred to suppliers who may store and use such data at premises in other countries. This means that when we collect personal information, we may share it with our suppliers and partners who may process this information in countries outside the UK. Where we allow a supplier to process personal information outside of the UK, we will ensure that we create and maintain appropriate safeguards with our suppliers so that this information is subject to the same standards and protections as apply to us when we are processing personal information in the UK.

JAMAY Consulting takes the security of personal information very seriously. We use appropriate procedures and technical security measures (including encryption and archiving techniques) to safeguard all information held across our computer systems, networks and websites.


8 How long do we keep personal information?


 To make sure we meet our legal data protection and privacy obligations, JAMAY Consulting will only hold personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes for which we collected it. After that we will either delete it or anonymise it so that it cannot be linked back to the provider.


9 Managing our marketing communications.


JAMAY Consulting will allow all contacts to stop all email and postal communications received from us if the contact no longer wants to be contacted by us. Please see the ‘unsubscribe’ link or details we include in each email or letter respectively.

Providers of information can also contact us at any time using the details below and let us know exactly what information they would like us to change.


10 Managing personal information.


JAMAY Consulting need to keep the personal information we gather accurate and up-to-date. We will ask that the providers of such information let us know if they think any of the information we hold may be inaccurate or out-of-date.


We respect the following rights in respect of the personal information we hold:


  • the right to access, correct, update or request deletion of personal information,

  • the right to object to the processing of personal information

  • the right to ask us to restrict processing of personal information or request portability of this information

  • the right to opt-out of marketing communications we send out at any time

  • the right to withdraw consent to the collection or processing of personal information


We will respect the rights of anyone who has any worries or complaints about the way we use personal information, and request that any such concerns are notified to us. We will do our very best to respond to any such queries and amend things as necessary. We will also respect the rights of anyone who is concerned that we are meeting the required high standards in this field to report the matter to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

JAMAY Consulting will need to update this policy from time to time. Whenever we make any material changes, we will endeavour to let people know in advance of any such change.
